Welcome to the Pack!

Welcome to Coulee K9 Services: All Breeds. All Needs.

Hello, dog lovers! Welcome to the very first blog post for Coulee K9 Services. I’m so excited to share our journey with you and help strengthen the bond between you and your furry best friend. Whether you’re here to learn about training, enrichment, or just want to give your pup the best life possible, you’re in the right place.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Nicole, and I’m a certified dog trainer with a passion for helping dogs and their humans thrive together. I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs—from goofy puppies who don’t understand personal space to determined working dogs with a job to do. My mission? To go beyond basic obedience and create a world where dogs are mentally and physically fulfilled, and their owners feel confident and empowered. My tagline sums it up perfectly: "All Breeds. All Needs."

Why Positive Training Methods Work

At Coulee K9 Services, I use positive training methods because, well, they work—and they work for every dog. Training is about building trust and communication, not forcing obedience. Positive reinforcement helps your dog understand what you want from them in a way that’s fun, engaging, and confidence-boosting.

Imagine teaching your dog to sit. You could push their bottom down, but does that teach them anything? Instead, using a treat or praise to reward the behavior not only gets the result, but makes your dog want to learn more. That enthusiasm for learning is what we tap into with positive training methods. It’s a win-win for everyone.

What Makes Coulee K9 Services Unique

Now, let’s talk about what makes Coulee K9 Services stand out. My focus isn’t just on teaching dogs to sit, stay, and come (although we’ll definitely do that too!). I go a step further by helping owners understand their dog’s unique needs and providing tools to meet them.

For example, I’ve been working on a desensitization obstacle course. Think crinkly water bottles, tunnels, and textures that help dogs feel more comfortable in new environments. This isn’t just fun for your dog—it builds confidence and reduces stress in real-world situations. Plus, let’s face it, watching your pup figure out how to navigate an obstacle course is pure joy.

In the future, I dream of opening a facility where owners and dogs can bond through enrichment activities. Picture renting a space like a gym membership but for your dog: agility courses, a pool, lure coursing, and even slatmills for high-energy dogs. This wouldn’t be a daycare—it’s a place where you and your dog work and play together.

And for those with a sense of adventure, I’m developing a sledding program! Once I’ve ironed out the logistics, I’ll offer sledding for dogs over 35 pounds who love to run. It’s a fantastic way to channel your dog’s energy and experience the outdoors together.

Engagement and Community

One of my favorite parts of this journey is building a community. I don’t just want to teach you how to train your dog—I want to help you discover what makes them tick, what makes them happy, and how to bring out their best self. Training isn’t a chore; it’s an opportunity to deepen your bond with your dog.

If you’re just starting your training journey or need a refresher, we’ve got options. From one-on-one puppy socialization classes to skill refreshers and more, I’ve designed programs to fit your needs. Check out my Services page to learn more about classes or book a session.

If you’re looking to get involved in other ways, I’m also accepting donations for my obstacle course and training materials. Things like crinkly water bottles, tunnels, enrichment toys, or even a raised dog bed can make a huge difference.

A Personal Note

Finally, I want to leave you with a little inspiration. My personal motto is: "If you're not growing, you're dying." That mindset drives everything I do. I believe that dog training isn’t just about teaching dogs—it’s about learning, adapting, and growing together as a team.

I hope this post gives you a glimpse into what Coulee K9 Services is all about. Whether you’re a first-time dog owner or a seasoned pro, I’m here to support you and your pup every step of the way.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure! Let’s make training fun, engaging, and rewarding for everyone. Stay tuned for more tips, stories, and updates.

See you next time,

Nicole Bulman
