Expert Training for Any Dog.

Real Training for Real Life

At Coulee K9 Services, we don’t do cookie-cutter training. No group classes. No pre-set schedules. Just one-on-one sessions that are tailored to your dog’s personality, struggles, and goals.

We believe in balanced training—a mix of rewards and fair corrections. Why? Because dogs (and humans) need boundaries to thrive. Dogs that have clear rules and structure are more confident, more relaxed, and way easier to live with.

Balanced Training = Clarity, Structure, and Consequences

Think of it this way: we don’t expect kids to raise themselves. We give them rules, routines, expectations, and consequences. “Don’t touch that.” “You can’t hit your sister.” “Yes, you do have to go to the dentist.” Structure isn’t mean—it’s love. It’s safety. And it’s how they grow into confident, capable little humans.

Dogs are no different.

They need structure just as much as affection. Boundaries just as much as belly rubs. And we get it—sometimes it feels like setting rules might take the fun away. Like you’re being too strict, or your dog won’t be happy if you say “no.” But the truth? No dog is truly happy living in chaos. Lack of rules causes stress, insecurity, and frustration—for them and for you.

Balanced training is about showing your dog the whole picture. Yes, you’re doing great here (have a reward!). And no, that’s not okay (here’s a consequence). It’s not about punishment—it’s about communication. About teaching your dog what works, what doesn’t, and how to live peacefully with their humans.

And here’s the kicker: structure doesn’t take away freedom—it creates it.

Imagine going to a dog-friendly restaurant and actually enjoying it because your dog settles calmly under the table. Imagine off-leash hikes without the anxiety. Imagine the compliments from strangers: “Wow, your dog is so well-behaved!” That life is possible—but it starts with boundaries.

We’ll help you build a respectful, well-rounded dog that’s a joy to live with and take anywhere. One that gets the rules, trusts your leadership, and thrives in the freedom that structure provides.

Our Services

Puppy Socialization

We recommend starting with 12 sessions to give your puppy a solid foundation in socialization, basic obedience, and confidence-building. This is a great starting point to cover essential skills, but keep in mind that your total number of sessions will depend on what you’re hoping to achieve with your dog.

Some puppies may need more sessions to reach specific goals, while others might progress faster. We’ll work together to customize the training to fit your puppy’s needs and your training goals. The goal is to build curiosity, reduce fear, and reinforce essential commands—tailored to your dog’s pace.

Let’s start with a plan, and adjust as we go!

Essentials

Got an adult dog who’s missing some basic manners? No worries. This training is all about teaching your dog essential skills—sit, stay, leash manners, and more—so your dog becomes the kind of pet that’s a pleasure to have around.

Start with 6 sessions to cover the basics, but every dog’s different. Some might need a little more time, others less. We’ll adjust based on your goals. The goal isn’t to complicate things with fancy tricks—it’s to help you and your dog communicate better, stay safe, and live in harmony.

We’re here to help you get your dog to a place where they’re not just well-behaved at home, but in the real world, too. No rigid timelines, just results. Ready to start?

Urban Etiquette

Ready to take your dog’s training beyond the basics? Our Urban Etiquette program helps your dog get comfortable in public spaces—whether it’s dog-friendly stores, parks, or just busy outdoor areas. If your dog’s already got the basics down, this is the next step.

We recommend starting with 8 sessions as a solid guide, but it’s not set in stone. Every dog’s different, so we’ll adjust based on your goals. Whether you're looking for better leash manners, getting them more comfortable off-leash, or just want to make public outings a breeze, we’ve got you covered.

This isn’t a cookie-cutter course—it's about setting your dog up to handle the real world, whatever your goals may be.
